EXPERIENCE

Psychological Testing • Psychoeducational Assessment

–Licensed as a psychologist by the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners

–Certified as a school psychologist by the Arizona Department of Education

–Experienced and proficient in the proper use and interpretation of tests used in the practice of psychology and school psychology

–Extensive background in psychological assessment, psychoeducational assessment, custody evaluations and vocational evaluations

–Write reports to address referral questions, render diagnoses appropriate for examinee and provide realistic recommendations

–Have experience with multicultural issues and incorporate cultural background, language development, educational background, work experience and socioeconomic factors into testing and interpretive process

Psychotherapy • Counseling • Consultation

–Use multimodal cognitive/behavior therapy and existential therapy to address issues presented by adults, adolescents and children

–Provide ongoing and crisis counseling and psychotherapy services. with a focus on a short-term plan to resolve problems with depression, family dysfunction, peer relationship difficulties, substance abuse and other issues.

–Consult with various agency and educational staff to address behavior and emotional issues faced by children and adolescents and develop workable behavior plans.

–Consult with referring agencies or individuals in the development of life plans for individuals referred for assessment

Teaching

Served as an adjunct professor for several years for Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University. Experience also includes working as a professor of clinical psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology (AzSPP). Have recently taught graduate classes in the psychological assessment of children, adolescents and adults; early childhood development, personality adjustment, school psychology services for minority students, and adolescent psychology. Have taught numerous other courses in psychological/psychoeducational assessment and psychological treatment
